Goodbye 2011

2011 has been a huge year both for myself and Crazy Teapot....

After a long time in creation the Crazy Teapot online shopping website was launched in October which finally gave my lovely feminine accessories, fashion and vintage items for ladies, girls and babies a showcase to sell from. It has been and still is a real labour of love which I continue to work very hard at promoting everyday and continue to be inspired for new pieces.

On the personal side, I gave birth to my 2nd baby this year - my gorgeous little girl Indigo, she has been such a blessing and helped keep me sain in our crazy house (an infant keep me sain?? yes believe me she has! - she is an Angel baby). Indigo has been such a wonderful addition to our family, I don't know how we would have gotten through this year without her, she brought us so much joy during troubled times :)

My husband took on a totally new career and took up a fantastic opportunity but it meant starting at the bottom again. We also moved several times (including long distance) which was a nightmare with two small children and I hope we dont have to do it again too soon.

We have had many up's and down's but we are blessed and have much to be thankful for, I hope that you are all blessed in 2012!

I'm also very lucky to have two such gorgeous girls to model the Crazy Teapot Girls and Babies range :)

All these items are available to purchase on our website

Happy New Year

Christmas Bling

I love sparkle at any time of year but Christmas is special so extra sparkle is a must! There are so many great colour combinations to choose from for your Christmas theme when decorating the tree, table centre pieces, wreaths etc... I am particularly loving the Blue, White and Silver combination this year and as we don't have white Christmas's in Australia this is a nice way to bring some of that special magic of a white sparkly Christmas.

I have created some story boards of my own crafty work with Christmas decorations in this theme, I hope you enjoy them and are inspired to do something special this year too :)

Merry Christmas!!

Birthday Wishes

Another Birthday passed me by this week and considering how busy life is at present with two small girls and a husband that is often away for work, I was lucky to have a really great day. My 2 1/2 year old was in day care, as was my sister in law's little one, so we were both free to go out for lunch (with only my baby in the carrier to worry about).

Since moving to Mackay several months ago, I had often walked past a gorgeous little gift store in town A Deja Vu Experience that boasts a lovely tea room, however with a limo length pram in toe and little hands that like to touch and feel everything, it has always been a definite no-go zone. My birthday worked out to be the perfect day that I could finally go to check out this beautiful looking store, so off we went.

I briefly felt like I was home in Brisbane with the special feel that this beautiful gift store gave me and the lovely setting their cosy tea room had for our lunch. Very impressed! if your in the Whitsunday's region and venture to Mackay you must visit this lovey store.

I was spoiled as well with some lovely well thought out gifts which really warmed my heart :) and my dear husband made a special trip home from work (3 1/2 hrs drive) just to spend some time with me on my birthday and help me out with the kids so that I could enjoy a wine :0

This all got me thinking about gifts and what your dream gift wish list would consist of.... I know that every year it would change slightly but this year I think my dream gift list top 5 would be :

1. A Summer Holiday
Anywhere with a pool and a nice place to sit and look over the beach/ocean. This photo was from Hamilton Island and I would definitely like to venture back there now that we are not so far away, looks so good.

2. A House Cleaner
To do the huge long, never ending list of cleaning, laundry, ironing I have to do.

3. Grandparents whisk the children away for the day/night

4. Dinner with my husband (so very rare)

5. A Shopping Spree with my Sister

Narelle is the perfect fashionista shopping partner, she knows my style and I can always trust that she will give an honest opinion!

On my shopping list would be:
* For some great tunes - Kimbra's new album Vows
* Anything from Fleur Wood - All so gorgeous, free and feminine

(image: Fleur Wood)
* Anything from Allanah Hill - To indulge in true decadence :)
(image: Alannah Hill)

* Something gorgeous from Ruby Star Traders - like this turquoise velvet chair

* Some gorgeous housewares from Domayne - like this Elka quilt cover

* A great read for the chill times - Minxy Vintage by Kelly Doust

I think that's enough dreaming for one day :)

Mid Week Inspiration

I have lots to do this week before Crazy Teapot showcases in the 'Made it Myself' market this Saturday in Mackay. I keep catching myself running around in circles jumping between 20 different projects that I am trying to complete for the event but need to just take a minute and stop.

Time to stop and re-focus, complete one project then move onto the next otherwise nothing will be finished in time. The best way for me to do this is be inspired by some beautiful images. Below I have shared some of them with you below - I hope they give you some mid week inspiration too!

Make over here I come!

I am well and truly overdue for some 'ME' time and am desperately in need a re-fresher in the looks department!

I am ashamed to admit it but it has been 4 very long months since my last trip to the hairdresser and for a blonde, this is a huge no no. I have way too much re-growth and am in desperate need of foils and a style cut. The trouble is when you have with two little girls (7 mths + 2 ½ yrs) + husband and your trying to build a new business, time & energy are in short supply. Much to my disappointment, I have had to put off my trip to the hair salon for months now but tomorrow I am finally going!

Excitement and relief is what I am feeling; excitement because I very rarely get to spoil myself and have some mummy 'me' time without the children and husband in toe; and relief as I will finally be able to end the embarrassment I feel every time I go out with my hair looking the way it does. A bit vain?? Well maybe but I like to take pride in my appearance when I go out, so having terrible hair for months on end has just made me crazy.

Anyway it is all about to end and I can’t wait to feel back to my normal self again :) The below image is the inspiration for my trip to the hair salon, I just loved this image from her hair
colour is just devine.

Stunning Gwen Stefani for November InStyle Magazine

I just came across these images on Fashion Gone Rogue and had to share, Gwen Stefani looks absolutely amazing in this style shoot taken for the November cover shoot of InStyle Magazine, photographed by Michelangelo di Battista

I love the richness of colour used with styling and the set of this shoot, very inspirational - selected by fashion editor Alice Gentilucci.
